How to use the double click

  1. Reset the counters, then place your pointer inside the click area.
  2. Make at least ten separate, ordinary single clicks. Avoid intentionally double-clicking.
  3. If suspect signals appear, repeat the test with the same clicking pattern and compare another mouse if available.

Understanding your results

Clicks counts left-button press events. Double counts double clicks recognized by the browser. Suspect counts pairs of press signals between 2 and 80 milliseconds apart. Fast intentional clicking can also meet that threshold.

A possible switch issue is a screening result, not proof of a mechanical fault. Software settings, macros and deliberate clicking technique may affect the counters. A clean short sample cannot rule out an intermittent problem.

Frequently asked questions

Why does intentional double-clicking raise the counters?

That is expected. The browser recognizes your double click, and particularly fast pairs may also meet the suspect timing threshold.

What should I do if unwanted duplicates repeat?

Repeat with ordinary single clicks, review mouse software settings and compare another mouse or connection. Consistent unwanted duplicates warrant further investigation.
