Understanding your results

The level meter is a relative visualization of the audio signal, not a calibrated sound-pressure measurement. Your operating system and browser may apply automatic gain, noise suppression or other processing.

No signal can mean silence, a muted input or the wrong device. Check the microphone selector and operating-system input settings before assuming a hardware fault. Audio is processed in the browser; this tool does not upload or save microphone recordings.
