Privacy and cookie choices

Updated 7 September 2026.

Your hardware test input

Keyboard keys, pointer movement, controller values, microphone audio and camera video are processed by the test code in your browser. The test tools do not upload these inputs or save recordings. Closing the page or pressing Stop ends a camera or microphone session. You can also revoke permission in your browser settings.

Website delivery

Our hosting provider, Vercel, receives the normal requests needed to deliver this website. These requests can include your IP address, browser information and the requested URL. This is separate from device testing and optional analytics.

Vercel privacy information

Cookieless page-view statistics

We use Vercel Web Analytics for aggregated page-view statistics, such as visited pages, referring sites, country, browser and device type. It does not use analytics cookies or receive keyboard input, test results, microphone audio or camera video. We remove query parameters and fragments from the page URL sent to analytics, and skip analytics when your browser signals Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control. Vercel processes request metadata to produce these statistics. Learn more in Vercel's analytics privacy documentation.

Optional Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 only after you select Accept Google Analytics. Until you accept, this website does not load the Google Analytics tag or send Google Analytics requests. Rejecting analytics leaves every test available.

With permission, we measure page visits and one coarse test_interaction event per test page load. This records the test page name, not individual keystrokes, click coordinates, device identifiers, audio, video or test results. An interaction is not proof that a hardware test passed.

Google also processes analytics request information such as browser/device characteristics, referrer and network information. We remove URL query strings and fragments from the page location and referrer we supply. Advertising signals and ad personalization are disabled in our tag configuration.

Analytics uses first-party _ga cookies to distinguish browsers. Our tag requests a 180-day cookie lifetime without renewing it on each visit. Counts exclude visitors who decline, block analytics or otherwise cannot be measured; they are not an exact count of people.

Change your choice

We store your analytics choice locally in this browser under dtc-analytics-consent-v1 for up to 180 days. You can change it using Privacy settings in the footer, or clear this site’s browser storage. Turning Google Analytics off clears our accessible Google Analytics cookies and reloads the page to stop further collection; it does not erase data already sent to Google.
